HRS Products makes sleds for water attraction parks. The company was experiencing a number of problems with the standard sealed ball bearings it was using. The ball bearings lasted only 30 days, resulting in 3-4 changes per season per sled. The high speeds and high temperatures followed by cool water and corrosion of chemically treated pool water, decreased performance.

HRS found its solution when it found igus® Inc. and iglide® Z. The plastic bearing, designed for high-temperature applications, eliminated all corrosion and wear issues.

“Iglide Z flange bearing has successfully handled this demanding application for a period of 40 days, with no reduction in performance and no signs of wear,” said Rodger Havens, vice president for HRS.
