QTRCO, located in Texas, is a valve actuator manufacturer and automation services company. QTRCO needed to replace a PTFE-lined metal bearing in a ¼ turn rack and pinion valve actuator designed to provide greater cycle life than competitive products. The new bearing must be able to handle a large number of high load and high velocity operations.

QTRCO chose igus® Inc. and its line of iglide® plastic bearings, specifically iglide T500, which is chemical and temperature resistant.

A company spokesperson said, “The igus bearings have demonstrated an ability to outperform PTFE lined metal bearings used in the same application, providing significantly more cycle life with minimal wear.”
