Chainflex CF7 and CF8 continuous-flex cables
deliver longer life and better performance
for automated machinery

EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. – January 23, 2007 – Igus® Inc.’s Chainflex® continuous-flex cables are designed for installation in Energy Chain® cable carriers to deliver longer life and better performance for automated machinery. Igus offers an extensive line of cables, in more than 700 sizes and styles, including Chainflex CF7 and CF8 power and control cables. CF7 and CF8 are equipped with short-pitch conductor twisting for long cable life and are ideal for demanding, high-flex applications.

Both cables feature a low-adhesion, PUR-blend outer jacket and are oil-resistant, coolant-resistant and flame-retardant according to VDE, UL approved and CE certification. CF7 and CF8 operate seamlessly at temperatures ranging from –4 to +176 degrees Fahrenheit and boast a minimum bending radius of seven and half times the outer cable diameter. For increased protection against external interference, CF8 is equipped with a high-coverage shield (90 percent optical).

All Chainflex cables are furnished with a unique construction in which the conductors are bundled rather than layered. Bundling the conductors and eliminating multi-layers ensures a uniform bend radius across each conductor. CF7 and CF8 are available in more than 20 different sizes and five different AWGs.
