Chainflex CF21 and CF27 high-flex servo cables perform through millions of cycles

EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. – June 28, 2007 – Chainflex® CF21 and CF27, continuous-flex servo cables from igus® Inc., provide power to factory automation and work especially well on alternating current (AC) electric motors with variable frequency drives (VDF). Supported by tests, not just theory, CF21 and CF27 perform through millions of cycles in short or long travel applications, even with a small bend radius of 7.5 times the outer cable diameter.

Both cables are constructed with four conductors and one or two signal pairs and also meet industry standards with CE, CSA, UL and DESINA approval. Chainflex CF21 and CF27 are impermeable to oil, flames and UV rays and as a result, can be used in a wide range of environments.

CF21 is the more economic option of igus’ two servo cables. It is equipped with a polyvinyl chloride (PVC) outer jacket and operates within a permissible temperature range of +23 to +158 degrees Fahrenheit. CF27 features a highly abrasion-resistant, polyurethane (PUR) outer jacket. It boasts a broader temperature range, operating seamlessly within –4 and +176 degrees Fahrenheit. Both cables are available with smaller bending radii upon request.

Like all Chainflex cables, CF21 and CF27 are specifically designed for use in igus’ leading Energy Chain® cable carriers and are RoHS compliant. Igus also offers ReadyChain, a complete, preassembled cable carrier system that combines Energy Chains with Chainflex cables.
