igus expands its online forum, Tech Talk, with design tips about Triflex R multi-axis Energy Chains EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. – October 31, 2007 – Igus® Inc., the leading developer of Energy Chain® cable carriers, Chainflex® continuous-flex cables and iglide® plastic bearings, today announced the debut of Tech Talk: Triflex® R Multi-Axis Energy Chains, a newly created forum on the company’s website. Tech Talk: Triflex R offers design guidance and tips on using Triflex R multi-axis Energy Chains and launches on the heels of Tech Talk: DryLin® Linear Bearings, which was unveiled on igus’ website earlier this year. The first Tech Talk: Triflex R installment—Why Protect Cables and Hoses on Multi-Axis Robots?—discusses the fundamental movements of a six-axis robot and the potential problems that can be avoided by guiding and protecting cables with Triflex R. Wayne Murphy, Triflex R product manager for igus, offers his product expertise on the website. “After the inception of Tech Talk: DryLin Linear Bearings, I was eager to start a product forum of my own,” said Murphy. “Through the Triflex R forum, I will be able to discuss relevant topics relating to cable management for six-axis robots, while providing valuable tips which readers can access at any time. I also relish the thought of speaking with any engineers or design experts whose interests about Triflex R have been sparked by a Tech Talk installment.” To read the first installment of Tech Talk: Triflex R, visit www.igus.com/techtalk/triflex. To read the current and past installments of Tech Talk: DryLin Linear Bearings, go to www.igus.com/techtalk. Additional installments of both Tech Talk: DryLin and Tech Talk: Triflex R will be added periodically and will address a wide range of cable carrier and bearing topics.
