Schneider Packaging Equipment Co. Inc., located in Brewerton, N.Y., has more than 35 years of experience in the case packing and palletizing industry. The company focuses on supplying complete “end-of-the-line” solutions to its customers. Most of Schneider’s products are designed to be responsive to the consumer’s unique environment and include case packaging equipment, tray packaging equipment, and robotic palletizing systems, among others.
Two of Schneider’s products are equipped with DryLin® linear guide systems from igus® Inc. In a custom packaging machine used to box up plastic bottles, DryLin W is used as an alternative to standard slotted brackets and acts as a vertical guide for a grabbing device. DryLin W has proven to be a superior solution, helping the packer maintain its 24-hour/four cases per minute operation schedule.
In a pick and place mechanism, DryLin W is also used to aid a pneumatic arm in packaging toner cartridges. DryLin W delivers an equally superior performance in this case due to its corrosive-resistant characteristic. DryLin W is able to withstand the harsh environment sometimes produced by the acidic toner, without requiring maintenance.
Customers enjoy the lightweight, maintenance-free operation of DryLin W, while Schneider enjoys the lower cost when compared to other solutions.
Jim Ford, an engineer at Schneider, recalls why his company chose DryLin.
“We needed a small, lightweight and cost-effective component which igus was able to provide,” said Ford, also adding, “The compact design and lightweight plastic works well in our machines.”
Schneider has been using DryLin linear guide systems for close to a year now with satisfying results. The company continues to use igus products in custom designs and final products with much success.
