The Sharper Edge developed a plumbers bit sharpening machine, but started to realize there were some problems. Grit and steel particles from the sharpening process jammed up the bearings after a few hours of operation.

The Sharper Edge decided to replace the bearings with DryLin® R linear bearings. DryLin R is an all-plastic bearing that is corrosion-resistant, wear-resistant and has a low coefficient of friction.

A company spokesperson expressed satisfaction with igus® Inc. and its products by saying, “These bearings have been in service for more than two years now with ZERO call for service.”
