Four important reasons to guide and protect cables on automated robots

There are many reasons to guide and protect cables and hoses in moving applications.

My top three reasons are to:

1. prevent cables from tangling, catching or corkscrewing;
2. decrease cable failure; and
3. make the application look aesthetically pleasing.

These applications use duct tape or tie wraps to guide the cables and hoses. These are only temporary solutions and often lead to cable failure if not constantly maintained. It is easy to see the cables are poorly managed and poorly protected with these fixes:
