igumid HT: chip-repellent material up to 1,562°F

Ideal for machine tool applications in the metalworking industry

igus® energy tubes are our fully enclosed cable carriers, which have been used on machine tools for over 20 years. Over time, we discovered that some applications - depending on the number, size and temperature of the metal chips - left behind scorch and melt marks. In response to this, so we developed a new material: igumid HT.
 

  • All E2 and E4 energy tubes from the standard range are available in this material

Tested in the igus® laboratory

Only igumid HT can withstand up to 1,562°F

Just under one ounce of hot chips was applied to five different cable carrier materials in tests. igumid HT was the clear winner; chip repellent up to 1,562°F.
