Guide troughs allow cable carriers to travel smoothly over long travels with minimal friction.
If the cable carrier is installed in the center of the travel ("center mounted"), it will glide on itself for half the travel. For the other half, we recommend glide bars, which are mounted inside the trough and on which the cable carrier glides. igus® guide troughs are available from stock with these abrasion-resistant polymer glide bars, which lower both friction and noise.
The Aluminum SuperTrough is a modular guide trough system for long travels. It is available as a low-cost, "basic" version, and as an upgraded version suitable for heavy-duty applications.
This universal usage makes it the igus® recommended standard guide trough system.
