The Y.E.S. Program is designed to foster the mechanical design ideas of those with a passion for engineering - whether you are a high school or college student, university professor, or team mentor. The program's goal is to support the design ideas of students and educate them on the merits and benefits of plastic components. Product donations are available to students and robotics competitions across the U.S., Canada and Mexico.
We look forward to hearing from you and learning more about your creative ideas!
Best regards,
Michael Hardy - Marketing Specialist

The Y.E.S. Program Facebook page is updated with new events, donation offerings and cool information related to engineering and robotics. Stop by to chat with other students or post your project using igus® products to the Y.E.S. Program wall.
We are excited to be a sponsor for the FIRST® Robotics Competition for the seventh year running. Every FIRST® team will receive a donated kit of parts from igus® containing an Energy Chain® cable carrier, iglide® plastic bushings, igubal® spherical bearings, and DryLin® linear slides and shafting.
If your FIRST® team would like to request additional igus® products, you will receive special discounted pricing. Please e-mail your order to sales@igus.com with "FIRST® Robotics Order 2013" in the subject line.
Good luck in the 2013 competition!
igus is now sponsoring the ASABE International 1/4 Scale Tractor Student Design Competition, a unique student engineering-design contest that it provides a realistic 360-degree workplace experience. Through involvement in the competition, students gain practical experience in the design of drive train systems, tractor performance, manufacturing processes, analysis of tractive forces, weight transfer and strength of materials. In addition, they also develop skills in communication, leadership, teamwork, fundraising and test & development. The competition, directly affiliated with American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers, is held May 30 - June 2, 2013 at the Expo Gardens Fairgrounds, Peoria, IL.
Good luck to all the competing teams this year!
We are excited to be a sponsor for the Botball® Educational Robotics Program for the third year running. Every Botball® team will receive a donated kit of parts from igus® containing Energy Chain® cable carrier and DryLin® linear slides.
Good luck in the 2013 competition!
We are excited to offer free products to the participants of NASA's Lunabotics Mining Competition, which challenges students to build an excavator that can mine and deposit a minimum of 10 kilograms of lunar simulant within 10 minutes.
Good luck in the 2013 competition!
igus is proud to sponsor the 12th annual MATE International ROV competition, which will take place June 20-22, 2013 at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way, Washington, USA. The MATE Center uses underwater robots – also known as remotely operated vehicles or ROVs – to teach science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) and prepare students for technical careers.
The MATE competition challenges K-12, community college, and university students from all over the world to design and build ROVs to tackle missions modeled after scenarios from the ocean workplace. The competition also requires students to think of themselves as “entrepreneurs” and transform their teams into companies that manufacture, market, and sell “products.” In addition to engineering their ROVs, the students are required to prepare technical reports, poster displays, and engineering presentations.
igus is proud to sponsor the 2013 Rube Goldberg Machine Contest with complementary products for registered teams. The 2013 contest, entitled “Hammer A Nail”, is aimed to encourage critical thinking and problem solving skills in a non-traditional learning environment. Students will design and construct Rube Goldberg machines, which are overly complex contraptions, using chain-reaction steps designed to accomplish the simple task of hammering a nail.
