Igus aids BEST teams in solving
the Laundry Quandary!

The close of the 2006 BEST Robotics Competition signified igus'® second year as a nation-wide product sponsor for the event. More than 800 BEST teams gathered to ponder the “Laundry Quandary,” this year’s game objective, which challenged students to design and build a remotely controlled device capable of placing “wet” and retrieving “dry” laundry from clotheslines within a three-minute time limit. Students had the opportunity to use Energy Chain® cable carrier, DryLin® linear guide systems, DryLin S aluminum shafting and igubal® spherical bearings on their robots.

“BEST Robotics is pleased to have igus on board as a national sponsor for the second year. At every event last season, it was easy to see how igus’ contribution heightened the caliber of the competition. The igus components created excitement among the participants by providing new design options and the opportunity to be even more creative. Igus and BEST share a common goal—to encourage a love of engineering and technology among students—and we look forward to working together toward that objective in the future.”
