Project: Build a feeder-mechanism
Product used: Energy Chain

Students from Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) employed Energy Chain® cable carrier on a feeder-mechanism used in conjunction with snake robots at the CMU Biorobotics Laboratory. The feeder-mechanism’s primary function is to test and deploy snake robots, which move, climb or swim on their own in order to conduct research.

Energy Chain prevents cables and wires on the snake robot from tangling, kinking and breaking as the CMU group runs them through the feeder-mechanism. The students reported that the project was a complete success, as some of the students were asked to continue their work at the facility.
