For a kinematics class at Christian Brothers University, students used donated igubal® spherical bearings on the legs of a spider-like robot. The project provided the students with the opportunity to practice mechanism design and analysis.

Igubal rod ends were used on six rotating leg-joints, which improved and increased the mobility of the robot. Igubal also enabled the smooth transition of the mechanism’s legs from one movement to the next.

Two separate groups of students each built a spider-like robot. Both teams used igubal and received an “A” on the project.
