During the Spring 2004 semester, students at Louisiana Tech University developed a “rescue rope” that may one day save lives and used an igus® Energy Chain®.

The Innovative Product Design class made the “rescue rope” so that it could be “deployed in windy conditions with considerable wave action or swift current.” The students were able to create a working prototype and show how the device would function in real life situations by incorporating the Energy Chain.
