Fifteen robotics students from Mount Saint Joseph Academy in Brighton, Mass. have participated in a lot of firsts this year. In their first year with FIRST Robotics, the students had the opportunity to participate in the first ever Boston, Mass. regional. The team competed with its robot, The Hungry Hippo, in a basketball-like game titled Aim High. The students used igubal® pillow block bearings, DryLin® N linear guide systems and DryLin® S aluminum shafting donated by igus® on multiple parts of The Hungry Hippo. Igubal bearings were used to hold up guide rods on the robot, while DryLin N linear guide systems enabled a plastic door to open and close when shooting and picking up balls during matches. Mount Saint Joseph Academy finished in 34th place out of 44 teams.
