Pinkerton Academy, a local N.H. team competed in the Manchester, N.H. FIRST regional event with its robot, Astro. The team created Astro for this year’s game titled Aim High that challenges high school students to fabricate a robot with defensive, offensive, ball-collecting and shooting capabilities.

Pinkerton Academy took on the challenge and used igus® products on its robot. Iglide® and igubal® bearings, along with DryLin S aluminum shafting enable the robot’s drive system and ball-delivery system to function.

Pinkerton students also used a DryLin N linear guide system in a unique way when compared to their competitors. DryLin N enabled the students to slide out the brain of their robot for repairs, making any last minute revamping an easy task.

Pinkerton Academy place 42nd out of 52 teams and looks forward to competing in FIRST Robotics next year. To learn more about the Pinkerton Academy FIRST team, visit www.team241.org.
