Students from South Dakota State University went off-roading with the help of donated igus® bearings for the 2006 SAE Mini Baja Competition. The team, comprised of six students, used iglide® G300 plain plastic bearings on its off-road vehicle, built to withstand the punishment of harsh terrain.

To improve the vehicle’s front control arms and pedals, the South Dakota team used iglide G300—a dirt-resistant, maintenance-free bearing—to greatly reduce friction and increase stability.

The team placed 107th out of 140 teams at the competition. They also received “A” grades in each of the mini baja judging categories.
