A student team from Stanford University designed and tested a sphere with an adjustable mass center as part of a course entitled Precision Engineering. A donated Drylin® linear guide system was used to constrain the motion of the device to one direction.

DryLin linear guides are both maintenance- and lubrication-free. Without the donated component, the project would have been impossible to execute. All three members of the group received an “A” for their work.
