The car wash is equipped with energy chain cable carriers and chainflex® continuous-flex cables from igus®. The energy chain cable carriers used are from the E4/4 family, which is extremely robust and resistant against water pressure and rough weathering. The energy chain cable carrier manages and protects chainflex® CF140 US, a continuous-flex control cable responsible for powering the car wash.

Both the cable carrier and continuous-flex cable function despite dirt, sand, and grit, as well as temperatures ranging between 20 to 130 degrees Fahrenheit. The manufacturer also chose to work with igus® because the price was competitive, the sales support excellent, and service life increased.

Currently, the company is using energy chain cable carriers and chainflex® continuous-flex cables on five to six machines per year and is hoping to increase that to between 50 and 60 in the near future.

The touch-free car wash is designed to be completely maintenance-free for a full five-year period - using igus®’ products to help accomplish this goal.
