The feeder is determined by the position of the fixed end to the travel.


Calculation of the chain lengths

If the fixed end of the energy chain is placed in the center of the travel, the chain length LK comes to half of the travel plus an extra K for the bending radius. The value K can always be gathered from the table in the catalog. The most cost-efficient solution is to always place the fixed end at the center of the travel, as less energy chain and, in the majority of cases, less cable are required.

The feeder is equal to half the travel (S)

Fixed end not in center to the travel in unsupported applications

The feeder is equal to half the travel (S) plus the deviation ΔM

Center mounted This formula is applicable in principle for all unsupported applications, if the fixed end lies at the center of the travel. Exceptions: Circular motions and most long travels.
Feeder not in center to the travel This formula is applicable in principle for all unsupported applications, if the fixed end lies beyond the center of the travel.
