Long travel - gliding

Here the upper run of the energy chain is used on the lower run in the gliding application. We recommend the project planning of such a system to be undertaken by our technicians.
The required installation space of the energy chain is not shown in the CAD model/drawing, for more information on design please ask our sales department for the drawing "long travels" for the selected energy chain.

Calculation of the chain lengths

Fixed end in center to the travel

This formula is applicable, if the fixed end lies at the center of the travel.

Fixed end not in center to the travel

This formula is applicable, if the fixed end lies beyond the center of the travel.

For travels between 4 and 10 m we recommend a larger unsupported energy chain.

LK = Length of energy chain
S = Travel
R = Bending radius
K = π * R + "Safety"
ΔM = Deviation from the mean
ΔCL = From the drawing "long travels" from our sales department
