Tensile testing with energy chains in oil

How well do energy chains perform in oil? In order to answer this customer's question, igus® tested the performance of Series B15 e-chains® in its own lab in combination with five specified oils. Over a period of 30 days, the energy chains were continuously moved and sprayed daily with the fluids to be tested.

Type of chain: B15-038-075-0

Travels: 1000 mm

Cycles tested: 759.287

Conclusion:

The subsequent tensile tests on the e-chains® specifically developed for this customer showed that only a maximum weakening of 11% is expected in spite of the continuous saturation of these special oils.
