A leading manufacturer of upholstery leathers uses a novel machine to split animal hides. The machine must be extremely accurate and have a long service life. A total of 239 iglide® plastic bushings and drylin® linear bearings are installed in the machine and operate despite the permanent humidity, residue alkalis, sulfide-containing hair-removal chemicals and aggressive proteins and fats. They are impervious to these demanding conditions and contribute to the long service life of the machine.
