In the case of this industrial robot, a rigid pipe between the 3rd and 6th axis was replaced by a multidimensional, flexible triflex® R energy chain cable carrier. The previously used pipe wore out very quickly because of the constant movement on the components. The advantage of triflex® R cable carrier is that all the movements of the robot can be supported by shortening and lengthening the energy chain to any length. Furthermore, a drylin® W linear guide with polymer sliding elements from igus® is used as a retraction system.
