Pick and place applications

The new robot system “Pickable” can lift and drop objects with high-speed. In use are cables made of metal, mounted on a mobile platform on one side and its length and tension is controlled via winders. On the other side of the platform, rectangle boxes are picked up from a conveyor belt. The robot can pick and drop them with the same speed. In all, the working effort becomes more and more effective. Furthermore, a tracking model in the conveyor belt allows the classification of the units. “Pickable” is part of a reconfigurable packaging line for the food industry. e-chains® from igus® can take six cables –three for electric and three pneumatic.
