Cable carriers on a mirror telescope

This telescope has been installed on the Canary Island of La Palma and registers the gamma rays that strike the earth from outer space. It has a mirror area of 236 m2. The position at an altitude of 2,200 meters necessitates a high degree of robustness of the components used here against high wind speeds, snow and ice, including increased UV radiation. Here igus® energy chain cable carriers of several different series are used that meet these requirements in the best possible way.
