"At igus I work with an amazing group of people in what is truly a team environment.  On a daily basis I am able to speak to and work with a variety of customers who are constantly innovating technology with our products. Being able to see our parts in use is fulfilling and really makes me feel like I am a part of something big at this company." - Nicole L, Product Manager

"The best part about working at igus for me is the people. While we are rapidly growing, we try hard to maintain a start-up culture. Operating this way allows us to develop a second family at the office while also encouraging creative collaboration across departments." - Steve S, Engineered Systems Engineering Manager

Company Culture

While providing the stability of an established company, igus® employees enjoy the feeling of a start-up environment. Our open office setting, on-site recreation area, and regular company-wide events allow our employees to build meaningful relationships across departments, states, and even countries. igus® has a work hard, play hard mentality; after a challenging day at work many employees jump on a team for Thursday Night Volleyball, join friends for dinner and drinks at the outdoor dining area, or take advantage of the great events that are always happening in Providence, RI. Above all of that, igus® inc. consists of 300+ people who are passionate about their work and are consistently innovating new and creative solutions to better our customer’s experience.

Company Culture

For more technical jobs, such as our sales representative positions, igus has an extensive training program that ranges from hands on product trainings to customer visits and interactive learning exercises to give our employees the right tools to be successful in their field. Additionally, our trainers work rigorously to ensure that each new hire understands their role in the company and that they have a full understanding of the material before starting their new position.

Company History

Günter Blase began igus® on October 15, 1964 in a double garage in Cologne. For the first 20 years, the company worked as a supplier of complex technical polymer components. However, in 1983 Frank Blase, son of Günter, established reinforced plastic cable-carrier systems and injection molded polymer bearings as two distinct product groups. These seemingly unrelated products are linked together through the belief in making functionally advanced, yet affordable polymer components and assemblies. Since then, igus® has grown from 40 to over 3000 employees between the head office in Germany and the 36 subsidiary companies around the world. Today igus® is the industry leader for self-lubricating plastic components and is making waves the manufacturing industry.

energy chain® & chainflex® cables

dry-tech bearings

igus® energy chain® cable carriers are the lifeline of modern machinery; guiding and protecting cables and hoses in moving machinery across all industries and applications. 100% lubrication and maintenance-free, e-chains® are able to stand up even the harshest environments, proven over billions of cycles in the igus® test lab. High-strength polymer design allows for reduced weight when compared to metal carriers, without the threat of corrosion, excessive noise, or constant required maintenance. Additionally, chainflex® continuous-flex cables are guaranteed to last up to 10 million flexing cycles when used in unison with e-chains®.

Customers can reduce overall bearing costs by up to 40% with the dry-tech family of self-lubricating bearings and linear systems. All dry-tech bearings are based around the igus® “iglide®” technology of tribologically-optimized plastics instead of traditional metal or metal-backed bearing options. A massive range of plain, spherical, ball, linear, and slewing ring bearings are available, all 100% self-lubricating, maintenance-free, and corrosion-resistant. More than 50 iglide® bearing materials are available to stand up to nearly any application and environment, including underwater, harsh chemical exposure, extreme loads, and high speed motion.
