Rail & Tracking Systems GmbH won the silver vector. Its systems are used wherever fast camera movements are an important factor as, for example, at sport competitions, but also at many popular events such as concerts, stage shows, etc. Due to the increasing distribution of HDTV, it is necessary to connect the cameras and the broadcasting vehicles with optical fiber cables. Here speeds of up to 14 m/s with very short acceleration times occur and operational use is carried out at a temperature of 45 °C in exposure to direct sunlight. The energy supply solution must be able to fulfill all these conditions in order to guarantee maximum fail-safety. This application has only become possible through the use of the latest igus® energy chain cable carriers (here the system E6).
