How robust iglide® bearings can help to reduce weight, installation space and costs.
At the same time, the service life can be increased by a factor of 10 in comparison to metal bearings with a PTFE coating (e.g. cylinder eyebolts in shock absorbers).
You will perhaps be surprised to find out everything that is possible with high-performance polymers in two-wheel vehicles today.
iglide® bearings
Lower weight, less installation space and reduced costs
Dry running, no external lubrication/maintenance necessary
Minimized degree of noise and vibration
Reduced friction and longer service life
Our goal for your application is always: "durable bearings - low-cost":
Do you want to replace metal sliding and roller bearings and thus benefit from better quality and the potential for improved ratios?
We are there to help you in every stage of your product development process with our experience and know-how - free of charge and without any obligation.

The world's largest standard product line for self-lubricating bearings has been expanded again. 16 full range materials, 1,321 new products: iglide® standard range now with over 3,000 dimensions that virtually cover all bearing applications.
iglide® bar stock enables more efficient manufacture of self-lubricating and maintenance-free components with simultaneous improvement of the friction coefficients and a substantial increase in service life.
Besides a large standard range of plain bearings, individually customized, added-value bearings are available. igus® supplies you with both - from a single source!
The high-performance polymers of the iglide® bearings consist of:
Base polymer
Fibers and filling material
Solid lubricants
iglide® offers numerous innovations for rickshaws.
iglide® Q plastic bushings are used in the rear-wheel suspension of this electric scooter.
Applications involving high cycle counts, speeds and accelerations or demanding environmental conditions require proven systems providing durable and reliable operation, especially when it comes to energy chains, cables as well as polymer slide bearings and linear systems. igus® conducts tests continuously in the in-house laboratory under real conditions. Every year, we conduct more than 2000 tests on e-chains® and cables, and over 5000 tests on slide bearings . The focus of our tests are tensile strengths and shear forces. Coefficients of friction, wear, driving forces and abrasion under extremely different conditions and speeds. Influence coefficients such as dirt, weathering, low temperature, or impacts and shocks are tested as well.
