Every other year, the manus® award celebrates the most creative and innovative ways engineers put igus® plain bearings to work, from iglide® sleeve bearings to drylin® linear bearings and igubal® spherical bearings. If you've designed an application that replaces conventional lubricated metal bearings with dry-running plastic alternatives, we want to see it.
Submit your project by February 12, 2027, for a chance to win one of four prizes: the gold, silver, bronze, or green manus, with prize money of up to $5,000.
Every winner takes home up to $5,000 prize money and a marketing package worth more than $10,000. Our in-house team will write an application story about your project for industry publications around the world and produce a professional video of your application in action. Since 2003, the manus has given winning companies an international stage to show off their engineering.
We talk to engineers every day, and we keep hearing the same thing: the pressure is on to cut costs and shrink the carbon footprint of their products at the same time. For the 13th manus award, we want to know how plastic bearings helped you do both. Tell us which technical problems you solved by switching to igus® plain bearings, how the change made your application more sustainable (for example, by eliminating lubricants), and what impact it's had on your costs.

You can submit your applications for the manus award until February 12, 2027.
As part of the jury meeting, experts from the specialized press, industry and business vote on the winners of the manus. Selection is based on five categories - idea, plain bearing function, savings, effect and differentiation.
