A fully black anodized aluminum outer ring is paired with matching iglide® JB sliding elements — a black version of the standard iglide J material — giving the bearing an elegant, discreet appearance designed for visible installations. The black coating also functions as an anti-reflective surface, eliminating the unwanted light or laser reflections that standard anodized aluminum can produce. JB maintains J’s wear-resistance, low coefficient of friction, low moisture absorption, and chemical resistance, so the visual upgrade comes with no performance compromise. Full PRT-04 modular system compatibility.
When to use it: Visible rotary installations where the bearing is part of the customer-facing aesthetic or any application where light or laser reflections off a polished surface would interfere with operation.
When not to use it: When the bearing is hidden inside an enclosure (use the standard variant for lower cost), or when food contact, ESD, or high-temperature compliance overrides the aesthetic priority.
Application areas: Premium furniture and architectural fixtures, retail displays, photography and film equipment, optical and laser systems sensitive to stray reflections, exhibition rotators, and any consumer-facing rotary mechanism where appearance is a priority.
