iglide® E7 bar stock – plate strip
iglide® E7 is a low-friction, low-wear material for light-load, continuous sliding. It machines cleanly into long, straight rails and guide pads that run quietly and consistently, with low moisture uptake and dry-running performance for compact mechanisms.
When to use it: For light-load, smooth-running guide strips in continuous motion.
When not to use it: For food-grade heat/washdown zones, see A350 or A500; for heavy-duty wear, see W300; for aggressive chemicals and heat, consider X or AD500.
Industry/Application Areas
- Precision automation and handling
- Laboratory and device mechanisms
- Small packaging and inspection equipment
igus® plate strips are narrow flat stock that minimize scrap for long, straight parts. You buy only the length needed while keeping a consistent width for quick cutting and repeatable wear rails or guide pads. Strips retain iglide® advantages: dry running, low wear, and material choices for hygiene and temperature needs. Available in round bar stock, plate stock, sheet stock, plate strips, and custom profiles (upon request).
When to use plate strips
- Long, straight wear rails, guides, or pads that fit the strip width
- Projects prioritizing scrap reduction and material cost control
- Fast cut to length with simple, repeatable fixturing
- Consistent width to streamline fixture design and throughput
When not to use plate strips
- Parts wider than the strip or requiring large pocketed faces (choose plate stock)
- Thin liners, shims, or low profile wear layers (choose sheet stock)
- Curved or complex 2D profiles that nest better on larger plates or sheets
- Turned, round geometries (choose round bar)
