iglidur® H | High temperature and chemical resistance iglidur® H is a fibre-reinforced thermoplastic material that was specially developed for applications in high humidity or under water. For each material, the moisture absorption and the thermal expansion are decisive factors. Plain bearings with low moisture absorption can be installed with a smaller bearing clearance. The rule for wall thickness: the thicker the wall of the bearings, the larger the clearances must be. <a href="/l/plain-bearing/wiki/tolerances">Testing methods</a> Assembly iglidur® plain bearings are press-fit bearings. The inner diameter is only adjusted to the appropriate tolerance after pressing into the housing. The press-fit excess dimension can be up to 2% of the inner diameter. This ensures the secure press-fitting of the bearings.
