iglide® J – round bar stock

iglide® J is a classic low friction, low wear triboplastic for broad general use at low to medium loads. It offers smooth, quiet motion, excellent chemical resistance and good vibration dampening, delivering long service life on a wide range of shaft materials.

When to use it: For low friction sliding at low to medium loads across many shaft types; when quiet, clean running and chemical resistance are required.
When not to use it: For heavy loads, consider W300; for wet, hygienic food contact, consider A160 or A181.

All iglide® bar stocks are self-lubricating and maintenance free, ideal for prototypes, low-volume runs, and geometries outside standard parts. igus® can also machine custom parts from bar stock with quick turnaround.

When to use bar stock:

• No matching size in the iglide® catalog
• Small quantities or special dimensions
• Tribo-optimized plastic needed for low friction and wear on a chosen counterface
• High compressive strength or elasticity required
• Rapid prototypes or design iterations
• Nonstandard or complex geometries

When not to use bar stock:

• A standard iglide® catalog bearing fits
• Very large volumes of one geometry (use standard parts or molding)
• Tribo properties not required and a non-tribo plastic suffices
