The sustainability-led PRT-02. Built from a 50/50 wood-plastic composite for both rings and sliding elements, it is the first igus® slewing ring to combine 50% renewable raw materials with fully grease-free operation. The natural wood-grain aesthetic makes it particularly well-suited to applications where the bearing is visible — a place where conventional metal or polymer slewing rings tend to clash with the surrounding design. It carries forward the core PRT-02 traits of low weight, low cost, and maintenance-free performance, and pairs them with a meaningfully lower CO&sub2; footprint than any other ring in the family.
When to use it: Light-to-moderate-duty rotary applications where renewable material content, visible aesthetics, and sustainability messaging are part of the product story, especially in furniture, retail, and architectural builds.
When not to use it: When loads exceed light duty, when chemical or moisture resistance is critical, when FDA compliance is required, or when an industrial appearance is desired — choose the iguton G or aluminum variants instead.
Application areas: Furniture turntables, retail displays, architectural fixtures, exhibition rotators, and showroom or consumer-facing installations where look and CO&sub2; footprint matter as much as function.
