iglide® ECO A500 is a sustainable, high-performance material offering excellent wear resistance and endurance in demanding environments. As a cost-effective alternative to virgin materials, ECO A500 is derived from regranulated iglide® A500, making it ideal for applications that require both reliability and environmental responsibility. It maintains the core benefits of the A500 family, including high temperature resistance and exceptional chemical durability.

When to use it: When a high-performance plastic is required in environments involving chemicals and heat; when sustainability and cost-efficiency are priorities alongside durability
When not to use it: For food contact or applications requiring FDA compliance – consider iglide® A500 instead

All iglide® bar stocks are self-lubricating and maintenance free, ideal for prototypes, low-volume runs, and geometries outside standard parts. igus® can also machine custom parts from bar stock with quick turnaround.

When to use bar stock:

• No matching size in the iglide® catalog
• Small quantities or special dimensions
• Tribo-optimized plastic needed for low friction and wear on a chosen counterface
• High compressive strength or elasticity required
• Rapid prototypes or design iterations
• Nonstandard or complex geometries

When not to use bar stock:

• A standard iglide® catalog bearing fits
• Very large volumes of one geometry (use standard parts or molding)
• Tribo properties not required and a non-tribo plastic suffices
