iglide® A500 – round bar stock

iglide® A500 is a high-performance, FDA and EU 10/2011 compliant material engineered for tough food-processing environments that combine high temperatures with aggressive media. It offers outstanding chemical resistance, low friction and reliable wear behavior in wet and hot conditions, making it a strong choice for critical, hygiene-focused components.

When to use it: For parts exposed to hot water, steam, caustic cleaners or acids, where compliance and long service life are key.
When not to use it: If static, low-cost applications dominate, consider GLW; for ESD-sensitive food lines at high temperature, consider AX500.

When to use bar stock:

• No matching size in the iglide® catalog
• Small quantities or special dimensions
• Tribo-optimized plastic needed for low friction and wear on a chosen counterface
• High compressive strength or elasticity required
• Rapid prototypes or design iterations
• Nonstandard or complex geometries

When not to use bar stock:

• A standard iglide® catalog bearing fits
• Very large volumes of one geometry (use standard parts or molding)
• Tribo properties not required and a non-tribo plastic suffices
