iglide® F161 – round bar stock

iglide® F161 is an ESD-safe triboplastic for sensitive equipment where charge dissipation and reliable wear behavior are required. It delivers low coefficients of friction and a long service life at low to medium loads, with dry-running, maintenance-free performance that stays consistent in everyday production environments.

When to use it: For jigs, guides and sliding elements near sensors or electronics that require electrostatic dissipation.
When not to use it: If food contact approval is needed at elevated temperatures, consider iglide® AX500.

All iglide® bar stocks are self-lubricating and maintenance free, ideal for prototypes, low-volume runs, and geometries outside standard parts. igus® can also machine custom parts from bar stock with quick turnaround.

When to use bar stock:

• No matching size in the iglide® catalog
• Small quantities or special dimensions
• Tribo-optimized plastic needed for low friction and wear on a chosen counterface
• High compressive strength or elasticity required
• Rapid prototypes or design iterations
• Nonstandard or complex geometries

When not to use bar stock:

• A standard iglide® catalog bearing fits
• Very large volumes of one geometry (use standard parts or molding)
• Tribo properties not required and a non-tribo plastic suffices
