A self-lubricating polymer belt roller for tight-radius deflection of conveyor belts. A180 is the food-contact baseline of the iglide® belt roller product line — FDA-compliant and engineered for the wet, washdown-heavy environments that define food and beverage processing. The material absorbs very little moisture (0.2% under standard conditions) and stays dimensionally stable in contact with water and wet media, which is the single biggest reason standard polymer rollers fail in food-industry service. Mechanically, A180 sits at the entry level of the food-contact options: Shore-D 76 hardness, max recommended surface pressure of 4,061 psi, and a service range of -58°F to 194°F (-50°C to 90°C) continuous. It runs dry, quiet, and maintenance-free.
When to use it: Direct food-contact deflection on conveyor belts in food, beverage, and medical equipment — particularly in wet or washdown environments where moisture stability matters as much as wear life, and where the load and temperature stay inside the standard range.
When not to use it: When the application sees sterilization cycles, steam cleaning, or short-term temperature spikes above 230°F (use A250, which tolerates 356°F short-term and carries higher surface pressure), when the project is non-food-contact and the universal P210 would do the job at lower cost, when the application is food-contact but extremely cost-sensitive with low mechanical demand (use A160), or when high transport speeds, high belt tension, or chemical exposure dominate (use H1).
Application areas: Food processing conveyor lines, beverage filling and bottling, dairy and bakery equipment, washdown packaging machinery, medical device assembly belts, and any wet-environment materials-handling application that has to meet FDA requirements.
