drylin® belt driven linear actuators from igus® are built to move low loads at high speeds, even up to 5 m/s depending on the load, while staying lightweight and compact. The range covers a lot of ground: basic and special-purpose designs, low-profile and miniature actuators, high-performance profiles for long strokes, tandem and double-slide configurations, and versions in stainless steel, carbon, and FDA/EU-compliant materials, plus conductive belt options for applications that need them. Each actuator relies on our own highly engineered, dry-running plastic bearing liners, which keep operation quiet, grease-free, and maintenance-free. Whether you use them as individual systems or as part of a gantry robot, they’re a strong fit when installation space is tight and you still need a high level of torque support. All drylin® belt driven actuators can be ordered ready for installation and configured with drylin® E stepper and DC motors.
Dry-running liners take lubrication off the maintenance schedule, which leaves belt tension as the primary spec to verify on a ZLW. Tension keeps the teeth seated in the pulley and stops a long stroke from flexing, which is what makes a move repeatable. The TRUMMETER® belt tension meter gives you that figure in seconds. Just aim the probe at the free span, pluck the belt, and the meter reports tension in hertz or newtons. Available to buy now from the RBTX Marketplace.
