Bevel Gears

Bevel gears are conically shaped gears used to transmit power between two shafts at a 90-degree angle. They function by meshing their teeth together, which allows for the transfer of torque and rotational motion between shafts that are not parallel. The gear ratio, determined by the number of teeth on each gear, is crucial because it dictates the mechanical advantage, affecting the speed and torque output. Bevel gears with a 1:1 ratio are also known as miter gears. Bevel gears from igus utilize our self-lubricating iglide materials, ensuring consistent and adequate lubrication for the duration of the gear’s lifetime. Additionally, a lack of lubricating grease makes the gears resistant to dirt, dust, and corrosion, and the plastic material is lightweight and wear-resistant.

*The bevel gears are sold per piece. In order to achieve the desired transmission ratio, two bevel gears must be ordered. The gears need to have the same gear ratio and the same module in order to be compatible.
