Gear Racks

Gear racks are linear components that work in conjunction with a pinion gear to convert rotational motion into linear motion, or vice versa. Typically used in machinery, automation systems, and steering mechanisms, gear racks consist of a straight bar with evenly spaced teeth along its length. Once a pinion gear engages with the rack, turning the pinion moves the rack linearly. Gear racks offer precise motion control, high load capacity, and smooth operation, making them essential in applications such as CNC machines, elevators, and rail systems. They come in various materials and sizes to suit specific requirements for durability and performance. The materials used in igus gear racks are self-lubricating and resistant to dirt, dust, and wear, making them ideal in environments where adequate lubrication with grease is either difficult or impossible to achieve.
