iglide® J3 – round bar stock

iglide® J3 is engineered for outstanding wear resistance in pivoting and pulsating load cases. It is PTFE free, exhibits strong moisture and media resistance, and extends service life significantly compared to iglide® J in suitable load ranges.

When to use it: For oscillating or pivoting motions that demand long life at low loads; when moisture and media resistance are needed.
When not to use it: For very high static loads, see W300; for aluminum shaft focus, see J200.

igus® bar stock materials enable fast, flexible creation of custom components with standard tools or CNC machining. All iglide® bar stocks are self-lubricating and maintenance free, ideal for prototypes, low-volume runs, and geometries outside standard parts. igus® can also machine custom parts from bar stock with quick turnaround.

When to use bar stock:

• No matching size in the iglide® catalog
• Small quantities or special dimensions
• Tribo-optimized plastic needed for low friction and wear on a chosen counterface
• High compressive strength or elasticity required
• Rapid prototypes or design iterations
• Nonstandard or complex geometries

When not to use bar stock:

• A standard iglide® catalog bearing fits
• Very large volumes of one geometry (use standard parts or molding)
• Tribo properties not required and a non-tribo plastic suffices
