iglide® JB – round bar stock

iglide® JB delivers high wear resistance and low friction across many shaft materials, with low moisture uptake and good media resistance. Its black color blends into visible assemblies, and its smooth running supports clean, quiet operation at medium to higher sliding speeds.

When to use it: For visible mechanisms needing black material, low friction and long life across varied shaft types.
When not to use it: For aluminum shaft optimization choose J200; for extreme load endurance consider W300.

All iglide® bar stocks are self-lubricating and maintenance free, ideal for prototypes, low-volume runs, and geometries outside standard parts. igus® can also machine custom parts from bar stock with quick turnaround.

When to use bar stock:

• No matching size in the iglide® catalog
• Small quantities or special dimensions
• Tribo-optimized plastic needed for low friction and wear on a chosen counterface
• High compressive strength or elasticity required
• Rapid prototypes or design iterations
• Nonstandard or complex geometries

When not to use bar stock:

• A standard iglide® catalog bearing fits
• Very large volumes of one geometry (use standard parts or molding)
• Tribo properties not required and a non-tribo plastic suffices
