iglide® AC500 – round bar stock

iglide® AC500 is a food-grade triboplastic tailored for high-temperature and chemically demanding environments where both compliance and durability are essential. It combines low moisture absorption with strong resistance to acids, alkalis and cleaning agents to maintain consistent, low-wear performance in hygiene-critical zones.

When to use it: For compliant parts operating in hot, aggressive media or frequent CIP/SIP cycles that require reliable stability.
When not to use it: If you require ESD dissipation at elevated temperature, consider AX500; for purely high-heat without harsh media, A350 may suffice.

When to use bar stock:

• No matching size in the iglide® catalog
• Small quantities or special dimensions
• Tribo-optimized plastic needed for low friction and wear on a chosen counterface
• High compressive strength or elasticity required
• Rapid prototypes or design iterations
• Nonstandard or complex geometries

When not to use bar stock:

• A standard iglide® catalog bearing fits
• Very large volumes of one geometry (use standard parts or molding)
• Tribo properties not required and a non-tribo plastic suffices
