iglide® J2 – round bar stock

iglide® J2 is a cost effective, media resistant material for wet environments and low PV values. It runs dry and clean with dependable wear behavior, making it a practical choice for simple guides and slides exposed to moisture or frequent cleaning.

When to use it: For economical, low PV parts in wet or splash zones with varied media.
When not to use it: For higher loads or higher speeds, consider iglide® J or J3; for food contact compliance, consider A160 or A181.

igus® bar stock materials enable fast, flexible creation of custom components with standard tools or CNC machining. All iglide® bar stocks are self-lubricating and maintenance free, ideal for prototypes, low-volume runs, and geometries outside standard parts. igus® can also machine custom parts from bar stock with quick turnaround.

When to use bar stock:

• No matching size in the iglide® catalog
• Small quantities or special dimensions
• Tribo-optimized plastic needed for low friction and wear on a chosen counterface
• High compressive strength or elasticity required
• Rapid prototypes or design iterations
• Nonstandard or complex geometries

When not to use bar stock:

• A standard iglide® catalog bearing fits
• Very large volumes of one geometry (use standard parts or molding)
• Tribo properties not required and a non-tribo plastic suffices
