iglide® A181 – round bar stock
iglide® A181 is a blue-colored FDA and EU 10/2011 compliant material engineered for direct food contact and optimized for wet, abrasive environments. Its visual detectability enhances safety compliance, while its low moisture absorption and wear resistance offer extended service life in food-grade processing equipment. A181 outperforms A180 in demanding hygienic applications.

When to use it: For food contact applications requiring visual detectability and high durability in wet, abrasive conditions
When not to use it: When continuous use above 230°F is needed – consider A350 or A500

When to use bar stock:

• No matching size in the iglide® catalog
• Small quantities or special dimensions
• Tribo-optimized plastic needed for low friction and wear on a chosen counterface
• High compressive strength or elasticity required
• Rapid prototypes or design iterations
• Nonstandard or complex geometries

When not to use bar stock:

• A standard iglide® catalog bearing fits
• Very large volumes of one geometry (use standard parts or molding)
• Tribo properties not required and a non-tribo plastic suffices
