A PRT-04 with individually defined locking points. A spring ball plunger creates snap-in positions at set angles — standard configuration is 90°, with custom angle patterns available on request — for quick and repeatable manual indexing without tools. The latching forces have been tested in the igus® lab for service life, and the bearing is supplied as a ready-to-install solution that works particularly well with optional T-slot plate combinations for assembly tables. Standard PRT-04 advantages all carry over: cleanroom-capable, 60% lighter and 20% cheaper than the PRT-01, full modular accessory compatibility.
When to use it: Mid-duty rotary applications that benefit from tactile snap-in positions, and tooling stations where the operator wants positive feedback at each set angle without a separate locking action.
When not to use it: When positive mechanical lock-in is required to resist disturbance forces (use the -ART variant for 350 N holding force), when continuous-arc travel limiting is needed (use the -TS variant), or when the application is power-driven with no manual positioning step.
Application areas: Manual assembly tables and jigs, photography and inspection rotators, hand-positioned tooling, dial selectors, and any mid-duty rotary mechanism where tactile snap-in positioning improves the operator workflow.
