iglide® W300 – round bar stock

iglide® W300 is a benchmark general-purpose wear material for continuous operation. It delivers long service life on 304 stainless steel (and rugged shafts), resists abrasion in dirty environments, and maintains low friction for smooth, quiet motion.

When to use it: For harsh, dirty environments and continuous duty on common shaft materials, especially 304 stainless.
When not to use it: For extreme chemical exposure at high heat, consider iglide® C500 or A500.

igus® bar stock materials enable fast, flexible creation of custom components with standard tools or CNC machining. All iglide® bar stocks are self-lubricating and maintenance free, ideal for prototypes, low-volume runs, and geometries outside standard parts. igus® can also machine custom parts from bar stock with quick turnaround.

When to use bar stock:

• No matching size in the iglide® catalog
• Small quantities or special dimensions
• Tribo-optimized plastic needed for low friction and wear on a chosen counterface
• High compressive strength or elasticity required
• Rapid prototypes or design iterations
• Nonstandard or complex geometries

When not to use bar stock:

• A standard iglide® catalog bearing fits
• Very large volumes of one geometry (use standard parts or molding)
• Tribo properties not required and a non-tribo plastic suffices
